Strange. I thought the FE theory says the Sun (and moon) is flat? Isn't that what Rowbotham claims, and explains, in his book?

Book? B-o-o-k? You mean holy text!

Holy?

Uh, no, sacred. Then it's alright.
(just one word for both in my language btw, strange...)

I've never been there, but I seriously doubt anyone lives there.

Hm, I start to like your theory (too bad that it's nonsense). It would be really great if there would be other beings on the other side...interesting image.

And the holocaust question was just a curiosity, as I have met many a person from Germany who deny it.

Where do you go where you meet people like that?

I'm not really sure, because when someone says something as a joke/ironic and then someone else says that it's really, there is a chance that he's serious. Get it?

Death penalty is never appropriate and countries where it's legal can't call themselves a free and democratic country.

That's where my tolerance ends.

The fact still remains though that you have enjoyed (given your over 21 years old, which I doubt) roughly 21 years of "freedom" when America enjoyed around 180 years of "freedom"

As I live in the west of Germany people here 'enjoyed' freedom since the end of the second world war. And I'm not talking about the past, I'm talking about the present. We can't be proud of our past, but America can't be as well. At least I don't have to be ashamed of our present.

Quote from: "SoulessWanderer"
Germany was "free" before the 1930s, and it reverted back to the very fabric of human nature. So enjoy your "freedom" while it lasts, your bubble of having a "perfect" country will collapse.

I don't think that Germany is perfect, just that our 'problems' and 'nuisances' are nothing compared to the American ones. I'm talking about present again.

But I'm curious, what do you think, where are the problems with democracy and freedom in Germany?

As I don't think that Germany is perfect, I also don't think that America is just bad. The problem with America isn't that there is that much 'wrong' (other countries are even 'worse'), it is the power America has. The combination is dangerous.

Quote from: "SoulessWanderer"

I still have yet to hear ANYONE say Sadam's execution was a "Democratic Milestone", and FYI, in case you have been completely oblivious to the trial, it was IRAQ that tried him, IRAQ that found him guilty, and IRAQ that executed him. Not America. We only found him in his little hole.

Your president said something like 'democratic milestone' (I've just got the german translations from the news). And sorry, but it's somehow legitimate to blame America for what happens in Iraq. You went there and now you have to take responsibility for it.

Quote from: "SoulessWanderer"
Curiosity, do you believe the Holocaust really happened?

You can't be serious... That isn't even a question.

At least our election machines work, really everyone is allowed to vote, we still have our full civil rights, 'justice' doesn't kill people (of course just people who can't afford a good lawyer and are mostly black), homosexuals are allowed to marry everywhere, we don't attack other countries to *force them to freedom*, we don't call it a democratic milestone when humans are hung, we don't still refuse to give the people who actually 'own' our country what they deserve .....................................

What about America?

Would be great as well, but that wouldn't show that it's flat. Just that it isn't a sphere. And there should be evidence, not just 'Perhaps it could maybe...'.

I dont think it is right to call Americans stupid. Some have near human intelligence. I have seen studies done that show that some Americans (if trained carefully) can master simple tasks, like bouncing a ball, firing a gun and declearing war on another country just to controll their oil supply. Sadly, they havent got the hand of eating pretzels.

Always amusing. (no, I didn't forget my srcasm-tags, I'm serious)

Quote
Before going on about how moronic the Americans are, look at your own country first, cause I can guarantee you, I will be able to show you just how moronic your country is as well. Our LEADER may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but that bears no reflection on the general populace of a country. Remember, he lost the popular vote both times.

(I just take your word 'moronic')

1) That other countries are 'moronic' doesn't make America less 'moronic'.
2) I doubt that Germany (the country I come from, that's because I chose it as example) is roughly as 'moronic' as America (at least we really have a free and democratic country). You could take France as well.
3) Who cares for who cares for France? That countries aren't major super powers doesn't make them more 'moronic'. Rather the opposite.

No, the point is: If the earh is a globe it can't be flat. And the earth is a globe. If you want to doubt that, you need something that shows that it isn't. Explanations how it could be another shape are worth n o t h i n g.

And (I'm aware of repeating): A theory which consists of possibilities (maybe there are very fast government airplanes, perhaps it's all about gold, possibly ...) is, yeah, a possibility. But if you've got another 'theory' which consists of facts (here we have the RET) and rules the other one out - which one is the one you call true?

Because we don't only consist of drives, but also reason. We have an autonomous will and are therefore responsible for what we do.

If we want a society to work it's our duty to do what's 'right'.

However, you're right. People often think that it's all over, but things like that can happen everywhere and anytime (e.g. what the Americans did to the Indians) - so we shouldn't forget and keep our eyes open. The Holocaust didn't show us anything about the Germans, Hitler or whoever, but about the whole humanity.

Did you every do this experiments by YOURSELF? And how do you know that they really prove that the world is flat? (I have to admit that I didn't waste my time dealing with them for a long time, because the experiments obviously weren't able to convince any scientist.) Do you just rely on what is written there?

The same thing can be said of you and the RE.  Did you do any experiments that show the earth to be round yourself?  How do you know that they really prove the earth to be round?  Do you just rely on what other people tell you and what you read in books?

Not really. You FE just have (in that case) one man's word. Whereas we RE's have oodles. And we don't believe that there is a giant conspiracy. But if I were paranoid like the FE's I wouldn't believe someone who writes that the did an experiment.

Wow...even more stupidity in this forum. (I'm German btw)

Even though denying or trivialising the holocaust is one of the most stupid/... things you can do I also have to say that it's not fair to blame today's Germans or to say that it's a country full of Nazis (bot nobody here does, so I don't see a problem). There are much more Nazis (e.g.) in America and other 'countries' did very very horrible things, too. Of course that doesn't make the holocaust 'better'. But sometimes I feel like people from other countries don't see what their own country did - and even worse: still does. Instead they refer to the holocaust and think everything is harmless in comparison...which is total nonsense. Even though we have some problems with Neonazis at the moment, Germany doesn't kill people - in contrary to loads of other countries.

Probably Albert Einstein would move back to Germany today...

With an infinite supply of one of the worlds most precious metals, would you need any more of a reason?

If there would be so much gold it wouldn't be precious anymore...hum, how I hate that things are attached with that much value without really being of value.

But: You can't just make stuff like that up to support a theory. Why is it always enough for FE'ers (I know that Wolfwood isn't) to have 'possibilities' while RE'ers have facts?

I think Joseph was trying to say that the earth is real not fiction. We know this because we are standing on it right now.

Right, but that doesn't mean that we know what shape it is. I really don't see where this is strengthening your argument.

~D-Draw

We know wat shape it is, a sphere.

That's an important point, have to say. Every few threads someone says things like
"We can't be sure. *blaaaaa* *pseudo-philosophical and pseudo-psychological gibberish.*"
or something like
"It's just a mind-game. *oversestimates everything* *admire some FE'ers* They are trying to make people think about *whatever*. *some more blind worship*".

But, and no read very carefully, that's not true. There's nothing to discuss or think about. The fact ist that the earth is a globe. And that can't be changed - whatever people say in a bosh forum.

And that is the reason why I don't take anything here serious - but hey, it's still a bit fun.
