The fact still remains though that you have enjoyed (given your over 21 years old, which I doubt) roughly 21 years of "freedom" when America enjoyed around 180 years of "freedom"
As I live in the west of Germany people here 'enjoyed' freedom since the end of the second world war. And I'm not talking about the past, I'm talking about the present. We can't be proud of our past, but America can't be as well. At least I don't have to be ashamed of our present.
Germany was "free" before the 1930s, and it reverted back to the very fabric of human nature. So enjoy your "freedom" while it lasts, your bubble of having a "perfect" country will collapse.
I don't think that Germany is perfect, just that our 'problems' and 'nuisances' are nothing compared to the American ones. I'm talking about present again.
But I'm curious, what do you think, where are the problems with democracy and freedom in Germany?
As I don't think that Germany is perfect, I also don't think that America is just bad. The problem with America isn't that there is that much 'wrong' (other countries are even 'worse'), it is the power America has. The combination is dangerous.
I still have yet to hear ANYONE say Sadam's execution was a "Democratic Milestone", and FYI, in case you have been completely oblivious to the trial, it was IRAQ that tried him, IRAQ that found him guilty, and IRAQ that executed him. Not America. We only found him in his little hole.
Your president said something like 'democratic milestone' (I've just got the german translations from the news). And sorry, but it's somehow legitimate to blame America for what happens in Iraq. You went there and now you have to take responsibility for it.
Curiosity, do you believe the Holocaust really happened?
You can't be serious... That isn't even a question.
