Was this a bad idea?
« on: October 02, 2010, 02:49:51 PM »
For Movember (http://uk.movember.com/?home), my team's team-name is Team Mosley, after fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley. He is popularly hated. I chose he because his name starts with Mo and he had a cute 'tache. http://uk.movember.com/mospace/532216/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Oswald_Mosley

Lots of my friends are getting butthurt over this and think it's crossing the line/offensive/stupid. Some are saying it could come back to haunt me. Some are even saying employers might google me, find this, and reject me.

What do you think, /b/? I mean, TFES?
I don't believe in Homeopathy, Hydroplates, Faith-healing, Acupuncture, Astrology,  ghosts, witchcraft, Intelligent Design, Cellular Cosmogony, Geocentrism, Phrenology, Séances, Dianetics or God.

I'm on this forum because friends say I'm narrow-minded.

:o Why would you do that? Why don't you call it Team Awesome or something?
Always check your tackle- Caerphilly school of Health. If I see an innuendo in my post, I'll be sure to whip it out.

I think what. It's a name, and the 'Mo' element is clear. It's not like it's not relevant.

Be quite good if someone started a 'Communist Team' then you could re-enact the street battles of the 1930s!

Honestly, go with team Mosley if you want. Ask people what they feel about it in a month's time, and nobody will care.
Here's an explanation for ya. Lurk moar. Every single point you brought up has been posted, reposted, debated and debunked. There is a search function on this forum, and it is very easy to use.

You can't live your life afraid of what other people will think all the time.  Its just not worth it.
The illusion is shattered if we ask what goes on behind the scenes.

Since when does one shorten 'stache to 'tache?

Since when does one shorten 'stache to 'tache?

When one shortens it properly to the second syllable of the word, not including the end of the first.
