Wow, still going strong. I wonder how many times this argument has been made.

Any of the newer FE's want to comment?
Any of you thought of any better arguments?

How is that bendy light theory going?

US President Obama cut the funding to NASA and took the axe to the new rocket and manned moon mission programs.

Why didn't the Conspiracy do something to prevent their funding being cut?

How is the conspiracy going to continue to fund itself? Will they be making staff cuts? Disgruntled former employees might go public.

The invitation of public sector companies to participate in the space programs and launch commercial flights will open up whole new avenues of leaked secrets for the Conspiracy. Won't all those commercial companies do some research and then announce that it's all been fake?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: the sun

This sort of low content posting is not allowed.

So Mr "I have an IQ of 176", if the earth is heated from below, why does it cool down at night? Do the conspiracy bosses turn the heat off?

So Mr "I'm a snotty and condescending jerk,"

1) I never said the earth was heated from below. That was someone else's belief. You can't just lump all flat earthers together.

2) If the earth were heated from below, the temperature of the ground would have nothing to do with it.

Try to be a bit more polite and people will be more inclined to help you out.
This relates to how others should view your posts. As coherent well thought arguments or gibberish.
What did you mean by "If the earth were heated from below, the temperature of the ground would have nothing to do with it"???
Are you asserting that the ground is unaffected by convection, conduction and radiation?

so its inapplicable to anything terrestrial?

What is the lower limit where the equation can be applied? A difference of 1 in 2? 1:5? 1:10? 1:100? 1:1000?

10
and what is the value of beta?

How does the planar metallic disc version of the Sun explain the apparent rotation?

I'm aware the movie supplied comes from NASA.
If you dismiss the above as fabrication I have the ability to record a timelapse movie of the sun through a telescope with a filter.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: FET = Religion in disguise? + Rant

It appears the point FErs are making is that if it exists in Hollywood, it must be fake. Patently absurd.

How about: "If it is physically impossible, but exists in Hollywood, it's pretty damn likely to be fake."
ah but who decides what is physically impossible? we are arguing from opposing viewpoints. what i believe completely reasonable you see as fantastic. we can't argue plausibility from opinion.

I tried, but no RE'er would do the calculations necessary to predict the difference in weight between noon and midnight.
without those calculations, any results I might have would be ignored as based on an incorrect model
do you mean the difference in weight influenced by the sun? do you have a set of scales sensitive enough?

14
The point in requesting input from FE believers is I thought they may have an idea of an experiment I could perform.

Why are you people still arguing with TB? You should be pursuing other members that have the ability to see your point of view.

to name a few.(sorry about forgetting your new names)

Pretty piss poor response FE believers.

Except none of them have given evidence of having performed any experiment.
ENAG was not written by anyone on this board and negative peer reviews are dismissed.

JulianMartin, your contributions have been valuable so don't be disheartened. I believe it is widely acknowledged that this is another weakness in the FE argument.
Tom is a king of trolls so you will never receive recognition from him. Take heart that no other FEr has tried to argue you.

If you want to make yourself feel better, go and read some posts from a year or two ago and watch him getting owned.

Flat Earth Q&A / Flat Earth experiments
« on: July 12, 2009, 04:22:24 AM »
What experiments have been performed? I've never seen anything posted here.

Use the search function. I know for a fact that a number of the FE'ers on this site have performed experiments pertaining to FET.

I've done a search and looked through the FE information repository. I can't find evidence that any FE believer has performed any experiment. If I'm wrong, please enlighten me. The link if you can otherwise the topic and I'll search for it myself.

I've been to antarctica at the appropriate time and the sunsets and sunrises did not match up to the right times.
Were you there in summer? Did you observe 24hour sunlight?

I don't think I understand. What do observers towards the edge see when looking out? Are you saying they look at what is really an empty patch of sky but the light is bent by the aether to provide the illusion of stars in that position?

But apparently pretty much every single theory in modern physics is known to be incorrect by the Flat Earth Society. How do you guys know so much better than the professional Physicists?

Because we proceed by Zetetic principles, whereas they invent theoretical models based on fabricated evidence and groundless assumptions. They are not being dishonest, but if you make groundless assumptions and accept fabricated evidence without question, then you are bound to reach conclusions which are not necessarily true.

hang on. not one of you has performed an experiment of any kind. all of your theories are based on information which has been discredited by the scientific community.
you invent theoretical models based on other peoples shoddy, outdated information, can't even agree amongst your own adherents and yet somehow you believe you are in a superior position to judge accuracy of principles?
I think you need to rethink yourselves.

It's not a given that every body in the universe has the same physical properties and no more.
it is a given that the same laws apply throughout the universe to all bodies. singularities excepted.

I think we should be seeking responses from other FE's. TB doesn't understand and apparently lacks the capacity to.
Robosteve, Dogplatter, Neeman etc. What are your opinions?

If we say that antennae can be directional we really do know what we are talking about, OK?

Not if it's a solid piece of bare metal is isn't.

Please tell me again how the metal antenna pictured above knows which direction the photons are hitting it from.

Just for the record, you don't believe that directional antennas exist, correct?

Youtube HD is nothing. I have seen a whole Imax movie about the ISS.

Was it a fake video?

Unfortunately, yes it was. It was filmed in a 747.

and how did you conclude it was filmed inside a 747?

I know what constitutes observable to most but from the various arguments I have seen from FE's, if they can't see it, it doesn't exist. I've seen the existence of atoms and electrons challenged in these forums because they aren't observable to the person making the argument. If I recall correctly, atomic force microscopy was alluded to be part of the conspiracy.
