It's just a change in inertia.

No it isn't. Your hair would fall at the same rate as the rest of you in a vacuum.

Yeah but they wouldn't start falling at the same time.
Inertia is determined by mass.

There is another thread about this EXACT topic I answered just yesterday.  But why am I surprised?  Geoguy is right, kids!

yea i know..i copied and pasted this exact question that I asked in said topic, but i wanted to see what bill thought

Yes they would.

If you say so, captain.

Since you people don't understand:

Gravity and acceleration are locally indistinguishable.  There is no experiment or observation that can differentiate between the two locally.  There is no observed effect, due to gravity, about a pendulum, airplane wing, rock or hair on someone's head, that cannot be explained by acceleration.

For more information, see Einstein's Equivalence Principle.

Except that gravity on earth is detectable as radiating from a spherical point.
Did I forget to mention, gravity is detectable. They use the process to find underground oil caverns.

What is being radiated?

Negative pressure.
Individual gravitons would only be detectable by particles smaller than gravitons, which may be impossible as gravitons could very well be the smallest particles in existence. So claiming gravity doesn't exist because we can't see them is bullshit.

This is a gravity map of an underground crater.
The darker parts are looser sediments from after the crater was gouged out.

How do explain how your hair stands UP when you reach the peak of the vertical?

Free fall.

you don't know wtf you're talking about. The earth is accelrating upward at 9.8mph. Therefore there would be no freefall.

Acceleration warps space-time in such a way that it creates a uniform gravitational field around the object accelerating

For more information see http://xxx.lanl.gov/ftp/physics/papers/0204/0204044.pdf

Quote
However one of the main tenants of general relativity is the Principle of Equivalence: A uniform gravitational field is equivalent to a uniformly accelerating frame of reference. This implies that one can create a uniform gravitational field simply by changing one’s frame of reference from an inertial frame of reference to an accelerating frame, which is a rather difficult idea to accept.
