Flat Earth Q&A / Re: A RIDDLE!!!
« on: January 16, 2008, 08:32:58 PM »
Many many years ago when I was twenty three,
I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her, and soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother, for she was my father's wife.

To complicate the matters worse, although it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad.
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter who, of course, was my step-mother.

Father's wife then had a son, who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandson, for he was my daughter's son.

Who is my grandma?

your wife, the widow. go to hell.

clappity clap clap. Pity you got the answer in the fashion you did however.

Some people here (not FE'ers) seem to think that HIV/AIDS is man-made.

Are we supposed to believe that monkeys created AIDS, planted it in their own brains, and then made humans eat it?

Personally i think that the argument of human creation is slightly more realistic.

Flat Earth Q&A / Existence
« on: January 16, 2008, 05:55:59 AM »
Something i ponder:

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

"Actions" (But more importantly reactions) are taking place right now: Kinetic Energy, etc.

HENCE

Everything we see is a result of a pre-occuring event (or action). And that action/event can justly be said to have come from yet another previous action. And that action from another, and so on.

Taking this into consideration, i determine that the timeline of the universe stretches back infinitely, as there can be no such thing as THE definitive first event (Big bang/god)...as even that event must have had a precurser, and that event likewise. It continues infinitely.

This does not disprove the big bang/god, but simply indicates that THEY themselves were created by a previous event/being which in turn was trigered by a previous action.

What am i getting at?

If this is so, there is no beginning, only an end. (This is because the universal timeline will stretch towards its origin for an infinite length, but never reach it...as that origin itself must have had an origin. The "end" is present time, unless time is predesigned. Even if this is the case, design only goes so far, it is not infinite).

We of course know that something with an end must have a beginning.

The explanation? The end, middle and beginning ALSO do not exist (if the beginning does not, neither can the others) and hence we ourselves do not exist.

Obviously: we are concious beings, hence something, somewhere must exist.

The more likely explanation? There is no beginning/end/middle because time is like a circle. Always repeating, never seemingly beginning or ending. This theory is backed by scientific beliefs that the Big Bang is a recurring event, where eventually all matter is "sucked" into a black whole so massive that it collapses (implodes/explodes...not known) and the Big Bang occurs again in an alternate universe (in the case of an implosion) or our universe (explosion).

For this to be the case something must have created the "circle" of time...

So do we exist? Obviously we do...but how is this so? What are the holes in my argument?

Discuss.

PS mind the grammar and spelling mistakes...I've seen many of them already, but i'm to tired to change

wat i meant by it having more direction (the butterfly effect that is), is that it is a very linear story, he keeps travelling back further and further until he cannot go any further back. the storyline is fantastic, different issues, love, loss, etc...but the whole movie is pointing towards the finale.

whereas with donnie, i just find it an awesum movie. and i disagree with beast...the whole idea of him going back to his room to in essence kill himself (or do wat must be done) in order to save the life of his loved one is very powerful. the song playing, people half-knowing each other (such as frank touching his eye), and the girl waving to the mum...supposedly a total stranger...its very strong. it shows us that we can each make a difference, be it for ourselves or for the greater good, and i find it ecceptionally thought provoking.

i think also u misjudged the "god is great" theme. i see little of this as i watch. infact i see the opposite, the spiritual people in the movie are depicted as a pedophile and a stupid mother...i believe the message is more along the lines that science/the unknown is great...but at no point does it refer to God as being this power

Because when you zoom in, it loads a different, more detailed picture. When you zoom out, it loads a less detailed picture.

So why couldn't it take the more detailed picture, run it through a computer and produce a less detailed picture?  Unless you mean to tell us that GE's satellite time is so massive that they take pictures of the same area over and over again just to take one good picture and then a bunch of crappy ones...
