OK, this is a very simple riddle

A man has two sons, and he refuses to split his inheritence when he dies, so he decides to give it all to one son.  He calls them both in and decides to give it to the one with the slower horse, now both of these kids have good horses, and so theyre confused, they go to visit the town wise man (since all towns have those).  The man says two words that solve their problem, what are those words ?

Ok, there are a lot of fellow Americans here.  Now I try to not be racist as much as possible, but how do you guys feel about Senator Obama possibly being president?

I think I understand what you're saying but I wouldn't want to misinterpret it and make an unfair judgement of you.  Can you clarify what racism has to do with it and how you feel about Obama being president in the context of that post.

Basically, I don't think that the US is truly ready for a black president, simple as that, especially not one so young.

Well the only probalem with predestination is that one who believes in predestination can state that God is above everything and is truly all powerful, so he could just go against his own predestination.

I hope you understood what I was just trying to convey, that didn't come out quite as coherently as I hoped it would.

So being an atheist means that you get to call yourself bright and hold it over everyone else's head?  Personally, I'd rather be a hippy.

That seems to be the New Atheist philosophy so far as I can tell, point out that you do not believe the same thing, and decide that therefore you are better than others, despite the fact that you yourself claim that the truth can never be known.

The only problem with that is we cannot be sure that there will be the same love for the Democrats as there is now in '12

I think the draft is something that is good only when truly "necessary and proper," if not, than bad things can come from it

If he is thinkin about running for presidency, I assume everything is in order for such a campaign

I would also vote for Powell, despite very good secretaries of state making very bad presidents in America's history

I've always thought the draft is kind of silly.  When you have to force kids off the street to fight a war in another land, it might be a good sign the war ain't worth fighting.

This idea always reminded me of the song "Kinky Sex Makes The World Go 'Round" by Dead Kennedys

I don't attack atheism, I don't see the reason why you feel that attacking Christianity is so important, but whatever floats your boat.

Well, I think he can attack it for the sake of the attack... I don't believe anybody's viewpoints ought to be exempt from criticism, and I don't think people should ever "just agree to disagree".

That said, maybe he has a good reason for attacking Christianity.  Maybe he thinks it's dangerous to somebody, such as society as a whole, or religious individuals, and that therefore it behooves right-thinking people to put a stop to it.

I completely agree, the only thing is, we've been over the same ideas at least four or five times now, without getting anywhere, so we know it's not going to go anywhere... so what is the point?

If at first you don't succeed...

Perhaps one of these times something productive will come out.

With supernaturalism, the miracle of evolution is replaced by a Creationist magic trick, the annals of reality, with its confounding mystery and unfathomable beauty is warped into a human likeness, the mechanics of causality and mystified into a cloud of spiritual uncertainty, the practice of science is chained by unmovable assumptions, and the desire to stir a false boredom pushes away the truth - and real "magic" of the universe.

In any case, the supernatural can only be the unexplained natural.

'Every great movement must experience three stages: ridicule, discussion, adoption.' - John Stuart Mill

The only "productive" thing that could come is you being more accepting toward others beliefs, and not being so stubborn in something that noone can ever know for certain.

I have those moments often, but heres the one that messed with my head, it was back in middle school.  I dreamt I was telling someone that her brother was going to beat the shit out of me for what I was doing, I woke up, didn't remember the dream, then when I was I was talking to the girl, I remembered the dream, all the sudden, a few minutes later, the situation came up, and I said it, on cue.  That is why I think there is something more to it.

What is the square root of i?

That's easy.  It's obviously (1 + i) / sqrt(2).  You get it by finding any complex number whose argument is half that of i, and then normalizing it.

An even easier answer is of course e^(pi/4).

I've got a brainbuster for you Erasmus
What is d/dx of E^x

So much for trying to keep it in layman terms, considering if they were mathematicians, this wouldnt be an issue.
