If the republicans keep the senate then Biden being a centrist might be an asset.  I'm probably delusional but they might be able to actually compromise on legislation.
Not with the likes of McConnell and Cruz.  Cruz and his lot will claim anything left of them is literal socialism and then McConnell will prevent anything they won't support from coming up because "We can't have divided republicans".

You think Mitch will allow anything that benefits the Democrats to pass?

You remember what he did to Obama, and how he acted during Trump's run?

Every year he gets worse and worse, there is zero chance of any cooperation because Mitch isn't going to allow it.

If by chance the Republicans lose both senate seats in the Georgia runoff and it becomes a 50-50 split, will there still be majority/minority leaders?

The majority leader in that case would be a democrat because VP Harris would get the tie-breaking vote as president of the Senate.

I'm not sure about that.  It would be 50 Republicans, 48 Democrats and 2 Independents who usually side with the Democrats.

Majority leader isn't decided based one which party is in the majority, but rather which person gets the majority of the vote.  If the 2 independents vote with the dems to put presumably Schumer as leader, then it's 50/50 split with Harris casting the tie-breaker vote.

Trump fires the secretary of defense via tweet.

The meltdown has begun.

Does this make it more or less likely that Trump could “go out with a bang”?

Oh snap https://www.axios.com/trump-2024-presidential-run-4add0d86-02be-41f9-b2fd-5aaca96ce6ce.html  We'll have another carnival in 4 years!
A lot can happen in 4 years, but I wonder if that would be yet another boon for the dems to secure either a 2nd Biden term or the 47th president.

I guess Trump found out where they hid his phone.  Back to his usual ranting.

Nevada is turning out to be a cesspool of Fake Votes. @mschlapp & @AdamLaxalt are finding things that, when released, will be absolutely shocking!

Calling a state a cesspool, classy.

And yeah.. I'm sure this info will be coming out REAL SOON NOW.  Just like all the other shit he promised over the years and never delivered on. Still waiting for the stuff from Hawaii about Obamas birth certificate.  Wasn't there something about a hard drive as well?

ITS ALL RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!  PROMISE!

I'm sure it's got people like Tom all bouncing in their seats and clapping like idiots, breathlessly awaiting this next revelation from their Lord.  Holy hell, how can people get fooled over and over so MANY times?  And every time... drooling over the next lie.

Holy crap.

Woman: "It's legal for them to count votes in PA two days after the election on Nov 3?"

Reporter: "Yes."

Woman: "Your wrong, go, I don't even want to talk to you!"

Ahhahahahahahahhahhahahahahahahahahah.

Oh my god, these people are such dumbasses.  The ignorance hurts so bad.  Have none of them ever watched an election before?  How stupid do you have to be to think we stop counting on election day.   :o

I just have to laugh, it's either that or cry.

Bom, like Tom and most Republicans, simply believed the hype: That Trump was invincible.   That he couldn't be stopped.  And who told them?  Why Trump himself of course.

This is like finding out the Earth revolves around the sun when the church taught otherwise.  You can't accept it because it would throw your entire life into chaos.  Everytbing you believed would be in doubt.

That's what I and many ithers felt 4 years ago.  Payback's a bitct, is't it?

Right....I thought Trump is bulletproof, that's why I planned my future business model with Biden in office (if you actually read what other people said instead of just waiting for your turn to type you would know this).

You and many others here are always demonstrating what is wrong with the people in the dem party. Always speaking to people in a condescending tone, acting high and mighty sitting right on top of your high horse.

It could be somewhat excusable, and just considered brash, if there was substance. Like if someone of solid moral character told me I was doing something wrong, or someone rich scolded me about money. Yet, with Dems it is completely unfounded, all hypocritical hot air. It is getting worse and worse as the echo chamber gets louder.

All these years I have tried to separate the party from the people. Unfortunately now it is getting tough as it seems each person that joins needs to know the proper handshake and wear the right uniform. Unfortunately, I am simply coming to the conclusion I don't like democrats, the party or people, and I don't want to be that way.

Well, we didn't vote for Trump so yeah, we get to look down condescendingly on those who did.

Especially when you did it again after 4 years of seeing EXACTLY what you elected the first time.

You want to support Trump? That's your right. But prepare to be looked down on for it.

Trump is trying to destroy democracy in America because he's having a temper tantrum, and you guys are helping him. Maybe you should clean your own house before getting upset and people complaining about the smell from across the street.

Please show where I acted like that during 2016. The only things I said was I think he has more support than we think despite the polls, and after the election how I was shocked and it showed how the media was all biased and liars (proven again this election).

Both elections I have supported no one only said one shit sandwich was less stinky than the other. Instead of talking from your high horse try reading a little first. Unless you did and are being dishonest, then at that point God-speed

You're perhaps spoken to condescendingly because you post things like that video of the ballot training claiming that it was a smoking gun about voter fraud and there was literally nothing nefarious in it at all. And you immediately are saying that the Dems defrauded the election process without evidence. What do you expect?

To be honest, I don't believe you.  You talked so much about how Trump was going to win that it seems very odd for you to have typed all that and then plan otherwise.  Also, not sure HOW you plan otherwise given we can't be sure exactly what will happen, given Congress is still in split control.

As for condescending:
Seriously?  You, the party of morals and family values?  Not being condescending to us godless, radical democrats?  Rrrriiiiggghhhtt...  I bet you wish you had another cup of lib tears, don't ya?

You are, quite literally describing yourself and the Republican party.
You have been ignored for common interest of mankind.
