I would. Bat shit crazy people definitely can get guns. I personally know someone that is clearly insane that has a concealed carry permit.

Still, I'd be more worried about the person that has no physical and documented link to the weapon who could dump it in the river and get another one than the person with a connection through the state.
Lesson in Ghetto  survival.

Stay the fuck out. Once again, most crime in Detroit is black on black.

it's only dangerous if you live there, are doing dumb shit there, and yes, you can get unlucky and die, but it isnt what is causing a murder a day. Its the bolded part.

DRINK A TEA EVERYDAY PLEASE!

Fact - In the state of TX you can carry a handgun in your vehicle, as long as it is completely concealed, without a permit. For all you military folk, this does not apply on base. Exercise your second amendment rights, and protect yourself. BTW I have a number for a good Concealed Handgun Class for TX if anyone wants it. By the end of the class you have everything you need and just have to mail your package in.

There are many states in which you are allowed to do that.  As far as I know, Wyoming and Montana are both like that as well--Wyoming, at least, definitely allows carrying of unconcealed weapons in every case except in an establishment that serves alcohol.  In California, from what my uncle tells me (he is and ex Sheriff's depute in the Sacramento area of 30+ years), although there are restrictions on what weapons you can carry and there's a waiting period and all that, you can still carry an unconcealed weapon around with you.  Also you can buy any of them at 18.

In Wyoming you can buy just about anything without any restrictions, besides the federal restrictions on automatic weapons and military grade artillery.  I used to work the gun shows with my ex girlfriend in Cheyenne, and you could walk in and buy all sorts of guns and walk out with them without any kind of waiting or paperwork.  Only real catch I noticed in Wyoming is that you have to be 21 to buy handguns, however you only need to be 18 to buy any long barreled weapon (shotguns, rifles, etc.)--however you can possess any long barreled weapon at any age, you just have to be 18 to buy them.

How about a MOAB up your ass?

Wyoming sounds alot like Texas' gun laws.  There is no permit to purchase here, no law for registration, but you cannot open carry a handgun.  You can for a long rifle.  And vehicle law just changed back in Sept of '07

I understand and respect the Second Amendment, but I don't get why carrying a gun without a permit is a good thing.  Wardogg, do you have to have a general firearm permit to have a gun in the first place in Texas, or can anyone just hide a gun in their car?

If you are qualified to actually purchase a gun from a dealer you can carry it in your vehicle concealed.  IE 21 yrs old, not a convicted felon.  Oh and you cannot have it in there if you are commiting a crime or are part of a street gang.  Those two are stated specifically in the law.

Gad, I once transported a small pile of guns all the way to Montana.  No telling how many laws I flouted along the way. I was a complete ignoramus.

I'm sure if you had been pulled over, as long as you identify that you have weapons that you own legally, and that when you get where you are going you planned on doing with them as the law there required, there shouldn't be a problem.  Contrary to apparent popular belief (not necessarily your own), cops aren't just out there to get everyone!

My sister and I were taking a pile of stuff to a cousin in Bozeman. We had four long guns and a couple of hand guns that he used for target practice.  They were in locked containers and had trigger locks but they weren't ours.

We were also in a Jeep Wrangler so we had to traipse through all the motel lobbies loaded down with gun cases to secure them every night.  It was a Thelma and Louise moment.

Yeah, I agree.  There was an amusing article on Cracked recently about cops, if anyone wants to see it:

http://www.cracked.com/article_18385_7-bullshit-police-myths-everyone-believes-thanks-to-movies.html

A little off-topic, I know, but neat.  Although I was a little confused by "Undercover Cops Have To Identify Themselves If Asked", as I have no idea why anyone would think that undercover cops have to identify themselves if asked.

Michigan is open carry?  Inside the city limits?

Michigan is a state silly. But yes. Their was just an open carry gathering at a park last summer. Cops were NOT happy about it. it's one of those laws they try to discourage us from using to our benefit.

http://www.usacarry.com/forums/michigan-discussion-firearm-news/2792-open-carry-legal-michigan.html

I know its a state, goofy.  Wink  Montana is open carry as well, you just can't do it inside any city limits.  I think Arizona may be the same way.  I didn't know about Michigan.

FACT: Texans are gun-crazed lunatics. Next...

Spoken like a true government oppressed person.  I feel sorry for you. Undecided
i don't know for sure, but i know i've seen people carrying firearms within the city limits in Arizona. But, like i implied, i don't know what the law says.

Given the population of nominally identical weapon carrying people divided into two sub-groups:
1)1 sub-group consists of people that have legally obtained their weapons and established their legal right to carry the weapon with them.
2)1 sub-group consists of people that have not or cannot qualify into group 1.

I would rather be around and be less concerned with sub-group 1 as they are more likely to be responsible and educated as to the proper use of a firearm and more likely to use it in a legal manner.
